I am an admitted makeup whore. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when I finally find a brand, color or shade of a particularly juicy piece of makeup that actually works on my skin type. I do not discriminate when it comes to makeup, well any more anyway. For years I was a make up snob, but then I found AVON and it opened my eyes to the wonderful world of affordable cosmetics. Don't get me wrong...there are some things in the world of beauty that there is no discount substitution for. However, I am testing and trying them out one by one and I will give you my unbiased and uncensored review below...

Ooohhh...AVON ANEW

My female parental unit, aka the AVON selling Diva, often gives me samples of new products coming out to get my honest opinion.  Sometimes I like the product and will use it myself and sometimes it's just not the right product for me or my skin type.  The newest little treasure that has come out of the beauty house of AVON is called ANEW ULTIMATE Night Gold Emulsion.  It claims to see results in 14 days, looking 5 years younger.  I can tell you that you will not need 14 days to be sold on this product.  I'm not exactly sure what is in it, but it has a lustrous golden shimmer to it and it goes on smooth and silky and makes your skin feel like cashmere.  I have an odd combination of skin, oily underneath and really dry on the top layer(s), we're talking Death Valley dry.  I noticed immediately that my skin tone was more even, some of the blotchiness had already started to fade and the fine lines I had were smoothing away.

After blowing through all of my samples of the Gold Emulsion, I will definitely be purchasing my own pot of gold so that I can see just how much better this product will help me to look.  It's actually fun to be excited over a product that does the same as very expensive treatments only a plastic surgeon can perform, for a mere $29.00.  Also, I have noticed that with any of the AVON product I have used previously, you only really need to use a very small amount to get the full affects.  Just a little tip.

Look how pretty and shiny it is. You know how easily distracted I am by shiny objects. P.S. it really does sparkle just like you see it in the pic.

If you want to try it for yourself, you can go onto the AVON website directly or I get mine here: http://www.youravon.com/mlafranco and...they drop ship directly to your home now. SWEET!

Moroccan Oil

If you have ever wondered as I have how celebrities get their ultra shiny, sexy free flowing hair; you'll be as ecstatic as I was when I discovered Moroccan Oil.   I was introduced to it by my hairdresser, better known as The Hair Diva!  She told me about it and I listened as I always do, because we trust our hair dressers to make the right recommendations for us.  This product was different than the usual fabulous product of the month.  The result is instantaneous.  My hair felt fuller, when I shook my head from side to side, my hair moved like I was a comic book character.  The shine was probably the most amazing.  When you see the stars in photo shoots, you think that the shine must be Photoshoped in.  With Moroccan Oil you can have that same shine.  I was so pleasantly surprised at the look and feel of my new luxurious lox, that of course I bought the whole line.  My hair has never looked better or has been easier to style.  I highly recommend this product.  You can find it online or in fine salons.  I get mine at AuGer Hair Salon and Boutique located at 5900 H St. in Midtown, Sacramento.

It Starts With a Good Foundation.

I spent most of my teen years as well as my twenties in search of the illusive all covering foundation that will actually cover your flaws without making you look like the wife of a televangelist. After shelling out a small fortune over many years I finally discover the fabulocity that is the MAC counter at Nordstrom. I used several of their products until stumbling up on the Studio Fix powder/foundation combo. Love it! The coverage is even and it goes on smooth and velvety and feels like silk on your skin. It cost about $25.00 but last for months and it is easy to carry around in a small purse suitable for clubbing. The Studio Fix comes with an applicator sponge and I recommend that you ask for a few more at the counter, those need to be changed out several times as you use the product, but well worth it. I love MAC make up in general, but the Studio Fix is fierce!

Mmmmmascara....

My most recent fabulous find is a mascara by AVON. It's called UpLifting and it certainly is. It has a cool brush that is bendable and oddly enough it has little 'hairs' mixed in with the mascara. They are random and just float around in the mixer of black gooey goodness, but when applied it is almost as if it adds individual false lashes right in with your own. You cannot see them...but they are there. They do not fall out or off however they will come off when you take off your makeup. This is by far the most fantabulous mascara I have come across in a very long time.  The cool thing about companies like AVON is that you can order online now and they will drop ship it to your house.  You can go online to AVON's website and find someone in your area or if ordering online your rep doesn't have to be in your area.  I get mine here: http://www.youravon.com/mlafranco
